Psalm 126:3

Theme: Psalm 126:3 - "The Lord has done great things for us, and we are glad."

SONS OF ZEBEDDEE | Four Fishermen Called as Disciples | Matthew 4

18 And Jesus, walking by the Sea of Galilee, saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. 19 Then He said to them, "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men." 20 They immediately left their nets and followed Him.

Q. What is God's calling for you? What are you called to do?

21 Going on from there, He saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets. He called them, 22 and immediately they left the boat and their father, and followed Him.

Bible Character Focus: The Family of Zebedee

  • 1. Father Zebedee: Trusted God with his children's calling.
  • 2. Mother Salome: Faithful supporter through the cross and resurrection.
  • 3. Sons James & John: Boldly followed Jesus

Q. What can we learn from the Zebedee Family?

God moves through families that surrender and walk together in faith.

Action Steps:

  1. Parents: Release your children into God's purpose. "You shall teach them diligently to your children..." - Deuteronomy 6:7
  2. Your home/family/circle of influence is your closest mission field. "Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord..." - Psalm 127:3

Call to Lifelong Discipleship:

  • 1. Commit to be a Disciple and Disciple-Maker.
    - Follow Me. I will make you fishers of men.
    Q. Who are you discipling? Who are you investing in? Who's Your ONE?
  • 2. Find your Tribe
Jesus picking and calling His disciples
    Q. Who's Your Tribe? Who's in your family?
  • 3. Create a hospitable sacred space for your disciples to thrive.
