Stewardship
The Stewardship of God's Comfort
Sunday October 19, 2025 - Pastor Wungreiso Valui
2 Corinthians 1:3-11

1. God Comforts Us So We Can Comfort Others (vv. 3-4)

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble."

Question: Who around you needs the same comfort God has given you?

Application: Reach out to someone walking through a hardship you've already faced. Offer prayer, presence, and words of encouragement that reflect how God carried you through.

2. Our Suffering and Tribulations Are Not Wasted (vv. 5-7)

"For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ."

Question: Can you see your suffering as participation in Christ's work rather than punishment from God?

Application: Write down one painful experience from your life and ask God to show you how He is using it to strengthen or shape your ministry to others.

3. Trust God When Affliction Feels Beyond Measure (vv. 8-9)

"We were burdened beyond measure, above strength, so that we despaired even of life. But that we should not trust in ourselves but in God who raises the dead."

Question: Where do you need to stop relying on yourself and start resting in God's power?

Application: When anxiety or pressure feels heavy this week, pause to pray and ask God to lift you up.

4. God Will Deliver Again and Again (vv. 10-11)

"Who delivered us from so great a death, and does deliver us; in whom we trust that He will still deliver us."

Question: How has God's past deliverance strengthened your confidence for what you are facing today?

Application: Share one moment when God delivered you. Thank Him -and declare by faith, "The same God who delivered you then will deliver you again."

Next Step:

Steward God's comfort this week. Reach out to someone who is struggling and offer encouragement, a listening ear, or a simple act of kindness this week.
